Tobias Heinrichs
Born in 1959, married and father of five children, Tobias spent eight years on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, the homeland of the Lakota Sioux. He was adopted by the Chipps (Woptura) family, who have a long line of medicine men in their lineage. There, Tobias learned about the culture, traditions, and healing ceremonies of the Lakota, and specifically of this family. He was trained in these ceremonies for several years and was told by his mentor to bring them to Germany.
Since 2000, Tobias has worked with these ceremonies, helping people on their personal journeys as well as in communities and sharing his knowledge wherever he goes. He organizes sweat lodges, guides people on vision quests, and conducts individual healing ceremonies (yuwipi). Once a year, Tobias holds a stone dance (similar to the sun dance) where many people come together for a time of community, introspection, and prayer.
Tobias has a vision that in these times, it is important to share this knowledge. He trains people so that they can independently conduct sweat lodge and canupa ceremonies in their communities.
He also works as a counsellor, using tools such as TA analysis, systemic family therapy, Imago dialogue, and The Work.
